Parent Orientation Event: February 23rd @ 6:30pm in the Maclab Theater

Student Orientation to High School: February 27th to March 3rd (date-specific information to come!)

Students will meet LCHS staff, in person, at their individual schools. During these orientation visits, students will be provided with a copy of the LCHS Course Selection Handbook. Much like the parent presentation, we will cover topics such as how students complete a high school program and how core classes are streamed in high school. There will be a Q & A after each presentation.

On March 16th, we will have all Grade 9 students attend LCHS either in the morning or the afternoon for a tour of complementary programming. Students will be able to see those programming spaces as well as hear directly from those teacher specialists. This will be followed by our Open House that evening (March 16th), allowing parents to see onsite programming and our facilities. The Open House starts at 6:30 and we encourage both students and parents to attend.

We encourage parents/guardians to review the LCHS Course Selection Handbook in order to assist their students in creating the best plan for their high school course selection. Please note that grade 10 students need to select enough courses to fill 8 blocks in their timetable. This means that they will select 4 core classes (refer to the recommended grade 9 marks for various streams). Your child will then have to select their remaining grade 10 courses from complementary programming, including Physical Education 10 and Career and Life Management. In April (11-14), your child will complete their high school course selection once again coordinated via their Grade 9 Schools with LCHS staff on site.
