Hey CPS!

One of the best parts of my day as principal is walking the halls and seeing the awesome things your kids are doing. I get a front-row seat to the hard work, the lightbulb moments, and the laughs. The only downside is that you don't always get to see it happen.

Having spent a lot of time at my own kids' school previously, one thing I absolutely took for granted was getting to witness all the fun things they did during the day. As a parent, I know firsthand that when you ask the age-old "how was school today?" question, the answer you get rarely captures everything they actually experienced. That is exactly what makes today so exciting, this new pilot program is going to give you that same benefit of seeing their day unfold.

Think about being a kid walking past a big store window around the holidays. You might not be able to go inside right then, but looking through the glass, you can see all the action, the displays, and the excitement building. That is what I want our social media to be for you, a clear window into the daily life and culture of Caledonia Park.

To make this happen, we have partnered with the BGSD communications department to showcase the great things going on at our school. They are helping us build our storytelling capacity and share the visible learning taking place in our classrooms. The goal is simple: we want to brag about our incredible students and staff by highlighting their projects, field trips, special events, and everyday victories. Our team is actively working to get our rhythm going so we can share at least three great stories a week with you.

I would love for you to jump in and help us build this community. Please follow our Facebook page, "Caledonia Park School - Black Gold School Division." Whenever you see our updates, please feel free to like, share, and leave positive comments so our kids and staff see the community cheering them on.

Since good communication always starts with listening, I will be checking in with you at the end of January to ask for your feedback. I want to hear what you notice, the types of stories you appreciate the most, and any suggestions you have for us moving forward.

I am really looking forward to sharing the energy and success of our school with all of you.
