Creating a PowerSchool Parent Account

What is PowerSchool?
PowerSchool is an easy-to-use, web-based student information system. It is intended to provide parents, students and teachers with a tool to communicate student performance. PowerSchool may be accessed from any place the parent/guardian can access the Internet. The application is a secure link that encrypts the data to and from the end-user. In addition, a username and password are provided to allow access for only authorized users to the appropriate student records.
How do I access the Parent Portal?
The Parent Portal can be accessed using the link on the Caledonia Park School website or at the web address: http://powerschool.blackgold.ca/public
Parent login information will be sent with the student or mailed home to the current mailing address on file. If you have not received this information please contact the school – 780-986-7888
What can I see on the PowerSchool site?
Parents and students can access the following information:
- Attendance for the past two weeks or for the whole term
- Grades for current classes, as well as the assignments that make up those grades
- Teacher Comments
- Final grades from previous terms
- Reports via email, which allow parents to request daily, weekly, or monthly reports to be sent via email
All parents are urged to sign up for PowerSchool accounts as soon as possible.
Specific instructions on how to create an account are located on the link at the bottom of the page. During the creation of the account, you will need to enter the Access ID and Access Password given to you from the office. If you have an existing account for another child at another Black Gold school, you can simply add this child to your account under the “Account Preferences” tab. Students can log in using their existing school network login information.
Parent accounts carry over from year to year. If you require assistance setting up your PowerSchool access or if you have any questions, please call the office @ 780-986-7888.
VERY IMPORTANT: Copy your username and password for future reference. Requesting a password reset will not work even though it appears to be an option on the website. Please contact the office if you need a password reset.
